Background History

TAWSEI is a civil organization founded in 2006; on 29/05/2006 it was awarded Certificate of Acceptance No. 00NGO/001899, from the Ministry of community development, gender, women and special groups.

Tanzania Women for Self Initiatives (TAWSEI) is a nongovernmental organization, with its headquarters in the village of Maramba “A” located in Maramba ward. This institution was registered in 2006 and started working officially to contribute to the Government’s efforts in bringing development to the community in the areas of Legal Assistance, Good governance, Economic groups and Infectious diseases

A model organization in defense, fighting and implementing different policies and laws that encourage the rights of women and young people for economic development.

To enhance better life conditions by defending and implementing policies and basic laws that advance social rights and economic development.

TAWSEI believes in empowering the community, recognizing their rights and responsibilities in the development processes of their areas and the country as a whole.

TAWSEI believes in good governance, one of the pillars or foundations of good governance is the participation and Involvement of citizens in designing, planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, evaluating development plans and projects in their areas and in the country as a whole.
