Our Activities

For the past years we have been doing the following activities;

  • Legal assistance with funding from the Legal Service Facility (LSF) which lead to the foundation of new NGO known as UWASHEM (Umoja wa Wasaidizi wa Sheria Mkinga)
  • Social accountability monitoring or public expenditure tracking (SAM/PETS) in water resources with funding from The Foundation for Civil Society (FCS)
  • Social accountability monitoring or public expenditure tracking (SAM/PETS) in health sector with funding from The Foundation for Civil Society (FCS)
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health and RightsSexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are fundamental to empowering women and adolescents and improving overall health outcomes in our communities. However, in the hardest-to-reach communities of Tanga, chronic underinvestment and various global challenges severely restrict access to these essential services. By supporting this critical area, we can ensure that women and girls have the choice, access, voice, and agency they need to live healthy and productive lives.

    At TAWSEI, we are dedicated to addressing these challenges head-on. Our approach focuses on building health and social systems that will create lasting change. We do this by:

Integrating SRHR into health systems and primary care to make services more accessible.

Addressing barriers to demand for services through education and social behavior change communication.

Supporting legal and policy reforms to create more opportunities for women and adolescents.

Securing contraceptive supplies and strengthening distribution systems to prevent shortages.

Deepening engagement with civil society, youth, and community leaders to advocate for SRHR.
